Evelyn Maxine Lueker

	Evelyn Maxine Lueker, age 79, of Pinckneyville, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 2:25 p.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Maxine was born in Marion on August 3, 1924, a daughter of Len S. and Grace Dexter (Casey) Hartwell.  She married Elmer 'Junior' Lueker on October 25, 1942 at the Pinckneyville United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2000.
	Maxine was a homemaker and worked for many years at the former McCants clothing store in Pinckneyville.  She was formerly very active in the Du Quoin and Pinckneyville saddle clubs and the Pinckneyville P.T.A.  She was an excellent dancer who enjoyed square dancing and doing the jitterbug.
	She dedicated her life to her family and friends and supported her children and grandchildren in all of their pursuits.  She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
	Survivors include a son, Steven Lueker and wife Kathleen of Mt. Vernon; a daughter, Judith E. Vlasek and husband Don of Katy, Tex.; a brother, William E. Hartwell and wife Julia of Hazelwood, Mo.; a sister, Mary Ellen Justice and husband Henry of Du Quoin; a brother-in-law, Tex Brostmeyer of Pinckneyville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Pat Brostmeyer and a brother, Wesley James Hartwell.
	Funeral services were held on Friday, October 10 at 1 p.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, with Rev. Maurice Swinford officiating.  Interment was in the Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Thursday, October 9 from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Friday, October 10 from 8 a.m. until time of services.
	Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
